About

Hi!  I’m Tobias (anyone who knows the reference gets cookies).  I was born in 1985 and am currently trying to get my ADHD in line long enough to actually do anything.  I am more liberal than most anyone I know, but continuously come across as more conservative because I think the psychopath activists are making the rest of us look bad (Michael Moore, I’m talking about you).

I am pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control, anti-war.  I am also pro-life, pro-gun rights, pro-military.  How?  I believe I don’t have the right to dictate what anyone else does with their own body, but I don’t think I could bring myself to have an abortion (if it was even possible for me to get knocked up) because I was nearly aborted.  I think all law abiding Americans have the right to own weapons, but I don’t think that [a] anyone needs an AK-47 or [b] the right is without reasonable restrictions such as extensive background checks, psychological evaluations, and proper firearm safety training.  I also love and respect the men and women who protect our country too much to send them off to die without damned good reason (WWII was a good reason, Viet Nam was not).

When I was 14 there was nothing I wanted to be more than a US Marine.  However, I held off on that desire because my parents wanted me to go to college.  I spent 4 years doing absolutely nothing because of issues with depression and undiagnosed ADHD and there is very little I wonder about more than what would have happened if I’d just ignored my parents and enlisted like I wanted to.

I have a love affair with London, particularly after having spent a year there.  It’s my favourite place in the world and I’d live there permanently if given the opportunity.  Unfortunately, that’s not likely to happen thanks to the stupid EU killing it for the rest of us.  I very much want to be a pediatric oncologist or HIV researcher, but at the moment I don’t think I have my ADHD settled enough to even get my bachelor’s.  Instead I am attending The Graham Webb Academy to get my cosmetology license and I’ll see what happens from there.  If I can’t be a doctor I wouldn’t entirely mind being every member of the Fab Five.

I totally agreed with you about the pro-gun control/no AK47 thing until more recent times when that whole “well ordered militia” might come in handy against our increasingly authoritarian government.

Until and unless my right to vote is taken away I see no reason to attempt a coup. One of the advantages to the US government system is that even if we get a crazy bastard as president we can vote them out. If more people would take advantage of their right to cast a ballot we wouldn’t need to even consider revolting against the system because the people in power would be more representative of the nation as a whole.
